I am pleased to welcome you to the Faculty of Fisheries, Kasetsart University.
The Faculty of Fisheries had its origin in the establishment of Kasetsart University in 1943 as an institution of higher education. This year, the Faculty of Fisheries steps into the 77th year of serving as the first faculty in Thailand and offers a diversified and comprehensive education in the area of fishery science. We have been recognized as one of the top leaders in the area of fishery science not only in our country, but also in the Southeast Asian region. As the dean of the Faculty of Fisheries, I have attempted to bring about change to stay ahead of the curve in new advances in fishery science either in academic teaching, or research outputs in line with our vision and mission of the faculty to pioneer knowledge of the land in the areas of fisheries and aquatic science for sustainable development. We are committed to building highly skill-based education and leading in research and innovation in fishery science in the Southeast Asian region.
The massive and rapid changes of today’s world present new challenges and set new demands on our education system. I and all of the faculty members are ready for adapting to the changes to ensure that the Faculty of Fisheries is an organization committed to developing highly skilled graduates to serve society and the country in accordance with the philosophy of Kasetsart University which aims to develop knowledge, fully equipped with ethics and morality and engaged towards economic prosperity and sustainable well-being society.
I would also like to take this opportunity to express gratitude to all parents who believe in us, all faculty members who have been dedicating themselves to educate students, as well as faculty alumni who have been supporting us in numerous activities of the faculty. It is our commitments to ensure that the Faculty of Fisheries continues to thrive and contributes the science of fisheries to serve society and the country on a continual basis.
